I recently covered the wedding of Emma Martin and Ivan Corbett in Coosan Church in Athlone, Co. Westmeath. The couple had a rock festival themed wedding and it was great fun. It was called the Wedfest and all the guests got tickets for the event. I started in Ivan’s house near Summerhill and we had great craic doing Usain Bolt pictures and the like. When I arrived at the bride’s house I was blown away by how well she looked. She had dark auburn hair with matching lipstick and shoes. I had photographed her sisters wedding a few years earlier and got a huge welcome back from her parents when I arrived back. We got stunning bridal portraits in her sitting room. Fr Declan made sure the church went smoothly in Coosan. He really is a fantastic priest and I love working with him. When we arrived in Glasson we went down by the lake for some photos with the wedding party. The Autumn colour of the lake side reeds and the low light matched the bride’s hair perfectly and we got stunning pictures of the couple by the lake. A lot of the golf course was flooded and I used the puddles on the course to get a mirror reflection of the wedding party. The Wedding cake was made like a set of drums for Ivan to play later! The speeches were very funny and the place was rocking when I was leaving after the first dance. It was a great day in a beautiful venue at a lovely time of the year!
