{"id":1985,"date":"2012-07-26T12:02:00","date_gmt":"2012-07-26T12:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/liamkidney.com\/blog\/?p=1985"},"modified":"2020-03-06T12:18:32","modified_gmt":"2020-03-06T12:18:32","slug":"is-it-time-wedding-guests-left-their-cameras-at-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/liamkidney.com\/blog\/is-it-time-wedding-guests-left-their-cameras-at-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Is it time Wedding Guests Left Their Cameras at home?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I received this email from a recent bride this morning and it got me thinking <em>Is it time Wedding Guests Left Their Cameras at home?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I had asked her had she any advice for any Brides on their wedding day and this is what I got from Rachel who married Dermot last April in Inishboffin.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">&#8220;My tip to guests would be, when the bride is walking up the aisle, put down the camera and look at what is happening, when I walked up the aisle, naturally I was very nervous, I walked up a long aisle and I was trying to catch people&#8217;s eyes to give me something to focus on, but I couldn&#8217;t see anyone that wasn&#8217;t looking through a camera or looking at the camera at the picture they had just took. I had just about reached the alter when I finally made eye contact with two people!&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1987\" title=\"Wedding of Rachel and Dermot\" src=\"https:\/\/liamkidney.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Blog-Collage-13433025481591.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"856\" height=\"671\" srcset=\"https:\/\/liamkidney.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Blog-Collage-13433025481591.jpg 856w, https:\/\/liamkidney.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Blog-Collage-13433025481591-300x235.jpg 300w, https:\/\/liamkidney.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Blog-Collage-13433025481591-768x602.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 856px) 100vw, 856px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At a wedding recently the father of the Groom leaned out on to the aisle so that he could video the bride coming down on his Iphone.\u00a0 This blocked both myself and the professional video man from capturing the bride walking down the aisle.\u00a0 Worse still during the actual wedding ceremony he filmed the vows on his iphone rather than watching the ceremony.\u00a0 I have photos of both of these events but I won&#8217;t blog them to save him his blushes!\u00a0 On both occasions he was more interested in recording the event that actually witnessing the event. \u00a0 This got me thinking.\u00a0 How many guests are spending their time trying to capture a photo of the bride\/ceremony rather than actually focusing on\u00a0 what is happening in front of them.\u00a0 Is what they capture really worth it? I have heard of pictures of the Bride being posted on facebook before she has even reached the church.\u00a0 The bride was angry because she had red eyes and looked awful in the photo.\u00a0 Has social media gone mad??
